The Tussock grass at Jade Shola has been growing at full pace at Jade Shola. Shola grasslands in the Nilgiri Biosphere play a very important part in absorbing water and generating perennial streams. The extensive root systems of the Tussock grass combined with the special soils they help build hold water like a sponge and release it slowly.
